Swimming or Cycling?

Two days in the evening, Hong Zheng went cycling with me. On the way i posted him a question.

Mum: Do you like swimming or cycling?
HZ: Swimming.

Mum: Why?
HZ: Cycling is hot!

Interesting answer. An answer from 3 year old kid!

Hm,,,,, soap soap

we decided to send Hong Zheng to nanny. After a week ,he seems to understand he must go although he does not want to.
I do not send him there as i worry i will not able to control myself and leave the job.

All information i got it from his dad.

In the first three days, Hong Zheng kept holding his dad's hand and never want to leave him.
On friday, he still soap soap but he mumble:"Mommy goes to work in NS. Daddy goes to work in computer shop. I need to go nanny's house. Mummy and daddy will pick me up after they come back..soap..soap"

He walked into nanny house although he kind of refuse.

My son is getting more understandable.

Hong Zheng, mommy still love you although we have to send you to nanny. Mommy loves you but life still need to go on..I am sorry.

I am growing up!

One day, while i was trying to hold hand while come down from stair. He told me to let go and wait him all the way at ground floor. He wanted to prove to me that he can walk down on his own and he did! I started to realize my son is trying to tell me he is growing up!

Quiting his diapers

Hong Zheng quits his diaper during his nap and is also slowly quitting his diaper at night. He does not wake up for wee at midnight. Possible? Maybe he sleeps late lately. Maybe he drinks less water lately. Maybe his kidney able to keep more water? One thing for sure, he does not drink much plain water.

How to juggle family and career?

I love my son but i need to work too. How can i handle them? I am trying each day hoping i can make the situation gets better.

At the beginning, i woke up at 6:30am to cook lunch and dinner before i leave to work. I stop doing it after Hong Zheng claim stomach ache. I start to cater for food caterer. Still dont work. I am looking for nanny. Still dont work? What should i do? I am tiring.

Tell me what should i do? I am totally exhausted!

Stomach ache

Last two weeks, Hong Zheng started to claim he has stomach ache. It is worst during mid night when he got up half way sleep and claim pain. At least 6-7 times throughout the night.

Brought him to see doctor, the whole hospital can know us as Hong Zheng can make the whole hospital so "huha". He was so phobia to see doctor after the incident of Influenza A.

His dad never follow the proper medication time so it drags him up to 5 days. I took unpaid leave and look after him. After a day, he is fully recovered. No more stomach ache, no more fever.

From our observation, Hong Zheng actually has kind of stomach gastric where by it is worsen off during the meal time. That implies, irregular feeding hour. Off course, his dad wont feed him at the good timing.

Can i still keep him with his dad? I cannot.

I am so sorry

Looking back to my old blogs, it has been idling for the past two months.

Just two months, so much things change....

Hong Zheng claimed stomach ache afew ago.
We cater for dinner during weekdays.
Hong Zheng follows his dad to computer shop.
I am reactivated as a career yet tired woman...

Today, what i had done? I visited Hong Zheng's soon to be baby sitter.

Hong Zheng dad claimed he cannot handle Hong Zheng and do his business at the same time.

I am terrifyingly sad! so sad that i cannot describe anymore.

Why i just cannot have a happy family who does not worry about all this? Why cant i give more precious time with my son? Since i have to work to support my hubby's ambitious, since i have to work to support the family while he is adventuring, why cant i give a happy childhood with my son while he still so attach to us?? Why? I can say nothing but two words " faith", "destiny".

Hong Zheng, mummy is sorry to you because that is all i can give it to you..I am so sorry.

Busy and busy

Left half month i will have to drop my SAHM title and become a career woman. I am going to hold a section manager post in a MNC company. Life will be so much different. It is a hard decision which took me and my hubby two weeks to make such decision.

As for Hong Zheng's dad, he already resigned his current job and starting his new adventure operating a computer services business in our neighbourhood.

How about Hong Zheng? We decided to keep Hong Zheng with his dad for the coming six months in his computer shop. If Hong Zheng able to coorperate well, we will send him for half day kindi next year. We will have to send him for full day kindi if his dad cannot handle him and his business concurrently. I definitelly wish Hong Zheng can stay with his dad as i fully believe he can continue to learn and explore together with his dad. Hopefully he can turn up become a cooperative boy. I deeply hope so.

Food wise, i plan to cook rice for them before leaving for work. Meanwhile also get ready some fresh fish and vegetables so that his dad can steam and eat for thier lunch. As for dinner, i will try to cook after work if possible else we will have to eat out for the time being. I think this is the best arrangement i can make.

Too much negative comment about catering food so i decided to drop searching for catering.

Life is gonna to be a big big change and i deeply wish my little boy can give us 100% coorperation. Will know very soon.

So, i am currently busy getting all the vendors in for the shop partition, electricity and furniture. Going to have a BIG WASH tomorrow morning.

Busy but contented!

My birthday

I baked a strawberry cheese for my birthday cake. We celebrated in the early morning so that we can eat it as breakfast. Haha, we were all still in pajamas. I think this family photo could not be found else where but i personally like it very much. It was my 35th birthday.

Exercise

I bought a book about how to train our child physically fit. A few poses which i think it is safe we do together with Hong Zheng. It was fun but we are still abit cautions so we do not do it very often but he likes it!

Egg Lover

Hong Zheng loves egg. To my surprise he is able to peel off the egg shell without damaging the egg. Off course with condition the egg is fresh and it wont stick on the shell. Look how much he enjoyed the egg. He likes both soft and hard boiled eggs. However, he dislike the hard boiled egg egg yolk. Surprise me.

Bird nest DIY

We read a book about animal home which demonstrated how a bird nest can be build. Co-incidentally there are birds come to our backyard awning to build a nest. So, we decided to DIY a bird nest. Look, Hong Zheng was holding the DIY bird nest. haha, i do not think bird will want to stay in our nest.

Bean Art Work

I read a blog about craft work. So i decided to give it a try with Hong Zheng. However i have to admit that i am not a talented artist. I gave a few types of bean with different colors and we start to glue them on a piece of paper. I think Hong Zheng is equally less patient as i am. So, the art work did not last long :-(

Ballons Again!

Hong Zheng really loves to draw ballons. Look these are the ballons drawn by him. Not bad huh! Surprisingly is he can drew 6-7 ballons in less a minute!

My Mother's Day Apron

I bought a piece of apron for my own self as a closing ceremony of being a SAHM. I am quiting my job very soon.

What do you think? It has some embroidery specially made by my ex- colleague who currently running a uniform and T-shirt business.

Sick again!

Do you know how much machine i store up in my fridge. How often me and Hong Zheng have been visited clinic, hospital and specialist in the past one month?? At least 5 times for visiting and 10 bottles of medicine.

What are them and what are the purpose?
HEXBIO Pro-batic 5 sachets - 1 sach per day. This diary supplement was prescribed lately due to Hong Zheng complained to me he has stomach-ache. Helps to control diarrhea.

Smecta Dioctahedral Smectite 3g - 5 saches - Half sach per consumption. To stop diarrhea. I do not give this to Hong Zheng as he only has loose stools twice a day which i think it is still ok.

Hydrinate yellow liquid - 6ml per comsumption to contol vomitting. I only never give this to him as he did not throw up seriously. Only once a day and not then serious vomit.

Allergic transparent liquid 2.5ml per consumption - Hong Zheng lately started to react to medication. Rashes grow in when under medication. Medication allergic. I have no choice but to give him this each time to see rashes grow in. Pity boy.

Fever pink liquid - His number one medicine. Hong Zheng fever can easyily shoot up to 39C once he was in fever.

Brown and white liquid for cough - White machine started to prescribe by Dr Lee CM from Pantai Hospital ever since he detected Hong Zheng has whizzy cough. I was told this machine can only sold through doctor's prescibition. Brown liquid is the normal cough medicine. This is only his frequent "visitor".

What else...they are more to come...

Life is going to be different very soon

Life is going to be 180C changes from 1st of Jun 2010. I am going to quit my SAHM position and become a 12 hours working mother. Very sad as the wonderful and precious moment with my son is going to be a full stop. Off course not totally full stop but just maybe 3 hours a day and 48 hours in the weekend. Sad but this is the fact of life.

Feel bad as i think Hong Zheng still need me at home. He is just a two years old 5 months boy. I hope he can understand me as a mum as well as a wife who always need to support his dad as a family.

Many things needed to be plan and trial out as you know, he has been with me 24hours per day for the past one year two months.

Jelly and Jam JJJ

One day when Hong Zheng came down stair for bath, he sang a song with his created "instrument", a roll of flayers. At first, i did not understand about the lyrics. I asked him what he sing and from where he learns. He then told me he said "Jelly and Jam JJJ" from phonics book.

Influenza A Positive!

On 13th April, i brought Hong Zheng to Pantai Specialist because he had high fever up to 39.2C and condition did not improve although under fever medication.
He took his medicine at around 11:30am and we set off to Pantai at 2pm as clinic rests from 1-2pm.
We were the 6th patient in the noon. When came to our turn , it is around 3:30pm.

Doctor took his temperature and it was 40.2C! Doctor explained it could be just a normal fever or influenza. He took small sample of saliva using a cotton butt and tested with a rapid kid. We were asked to perform a blood test.

After around 30min of waiting, we got the blood report and went back to clinic. I immediately asked the nurse how was the result and she told me it was POSITIVE!!!!

I hardly believe my eye and ear as the way she told me was like kidding on me! Finally we went in again and it was confirmed, Influenza A positive! Oh my god! I was told H1N1 was the subset of Influenza A. Hong Zheng might not or might affected H1N1. Doctor told me he wards are full and Hong Zheng cannot be wadded but he can go under medication and quarantine at home.

That day after home, i started to keep an enye on his temeperature. I took his tempearature after each 30min to 1 hour started from 8pm Tuesday. His temperature got stable only after the following day night.









Today is the 6th day, temperature is within control but somewhat cough is never recover. Really really worry me. Will call doctor tomorrow if further check up is needed.

If you asked me why he was affected? I do not know maybe the last sunday shopping trip.

Inhale bubbles

Today in bathroom, Hong Zheng somehow inhaled bubbles into his nose. He complained to me that it was pain. Poor boy. He likes to generates some bubbles in a cup and then blow it. Today, he put the cup too close to his nose. Poor my son.

Quiting diaper during nap!

I told him he has to quit his diaper during nap time so that when he goes to school next year, he will not need teacher to help him. So, we tried it up and it worked on the first day. He went to pass his urine before his nap. One hour later, he claimed for wee wee. I brought him to washroom. After his business, he went back to sleep for another hour. I was so amazed!

Second day, as first day, he past his urine before nap but some how he did ask for wee wee during his nap. As a result, he got wet but he still fall asleep for another hour!

Do you want to go school?

I always ask him if he wants to go school to learn new things from teacher. He usually said "No". Surprisingly, one day he said yes and then go to wear his shirt and paints. He actually always wait for me to help him. While trying to put on his clothes, he mumbles " teacher teaches me tree, flower, fish, and bra bra!" These are the sentences i use to tell him.

Start to be a better listener!

Hong Zheng are getting better as a listener. He listened and followed my instruction.
He can sit still in trolley without asking to go down when we were in the shopping mall about an hour.

He understand he need to handover his favourite Yakult to the cashier.

He can quickly clean up his mess after being asked to do so.

However, sometimes incidents still happen. I think this is normal as he is still a two years old 4 months boy.

New Trick! Start all over again!

I always limit Hong Zheng for some bedtime story books. If i do not do so, he can ask me to read for a few hours non-stop. So, always he appeals me one last book. His one last book is never ending. So, one day, i told him that was really the last book and he nodded as a sign of agreement. So, i started to read page by page, when half way through, he asked me to go back to first page and start all over again. It was wierd but i sort of agree and start all over again. Again half way he asked to start all over again! Ha! this is his trick to keep the forever last book!! See, how smart he is!

I got a sprinkle!

Without knowing any reason, i found a sprinkle at my right thumb. I told Hong Zheng it was a sprinkle. He read a book about First Aid which sounds "if you have a sprinkle, tweeze it, put medicine on it and get a hug". Without asking, he quickly jumped up from bed and went to take medicine. He volunteerly opened the cover and put the medicine tube on my hand. I was really relly touch. He closed it after i applied the medicine and then return it to the drawer. He then came to give me a hug. So sweet!

A ballon!

Hong Zheng is getting better in controlling his hand in drawing what he wants. He drew balloon!
Surprisely he drew a nice one with a circle and a string! Nice job!

Playing with a raw fish

Have you ever let your child play with raw fish? Not fish from fish tank but from wet market?

I always give any grocery things to Hong Zheng to play while i am preparing for meal. He first started to play with onions, garlic, sweet corn. After that he switch to red bean, black bean and soy beans. Lately i started to give him raw fish. I have no choice as he has get bored to those things that he use to play with.

Off course i took the oppurtunity to teach him about fin, scale, tail, eye. How fish fish balance themselves in water, how they control the directio and how they breath in water. Never forget about cold blooded animal vs warm blooded animals...

I love you with all my heart!

Lately read Hong Zheng on this book with title : "I love you with all my heart!". One day when i was putting him bath, he said it to me:"Mommy, i love you with all my heart!" So lovely and touching. Dont you agree with me?

This book describes about a baby tear finding answer the meaning of " my mommy loves me with all my heart".

We come to learn how animals share their love with their little one, example, mommy fox gives friendly nibble, penguin gives hug with her fins and more..

Seaside fun

It was 11am but we still insisted to go for a seaside trip for fun one one sunny day after failing to visit KL. It is fun? I would say no as the weather is pretty warm. Hong Zheng did not seem to have fun too. He scared to go to the sea water. He only can fling sand in the air and do some pouring staff. Quit a boring trip i would say.

Sweeping Floor 90%

Hong Zheng can sweep the floor pretty well, i just so surprise to see how he swings the broom and carry the dustpan.

I gave him 90% for skill in sweeping the floor as he is only two years four months old! How about you?
He can also nicely park the dustpan after completing the task. Sweet huh? So proud to see that

My Online Bookstore was born!

It has been getting harder for me to share blog about Hong Zheng lately because my baby and children books online bookstore was just delivered - Books Station. Many things need to be done, take books photos, source for more books, reply customers, market my blog, improve my blog structure, do packing and shipment and more...it is time consume and involves a lot of effort. SOmetimes found it difficuit too as Hong Zheng keeps following me whatever what i am doing. But i like it as i know he will definitely learn together with me. Maybe when he slightly grown up, he too can learn some income through online..haha..

Again, my first priority is my son, second is my bookstore. I love my son inorder to continue to be a SAHM, i must do something. what else than selling books online?

Pick and Match

Hong Zheng motor and learning skill has advance further. He can now match the shape and align it properly on the paper. He played it three months ago but i did not see his ability to do it but now he concurs! So happy to see his advancement.

Ballons!

Hong Zheng did not know how to play ballons! His cousin gave him three ballons and he just kept holding them. He starts crying when the ballons blew away by air. I was so irritated why he just kept holding ballons so i gave him a basket. Still the ballons got blew and he started to cry. I told him how did you play ballons? You should bounce, throw or kick them. Finally i only realize he did not know how to play ballons. After my few demonstration, he enjoyed playing with ballons. I even add some water into ballons and let him try out. Children are interesting, i thought they should be creative enough to know what to play. Look like not true.

Clay fun

Hong Zheng learns clay work. This is the activity that let me focus and keep static for around 10min other than reading books. He is getting more creative and imaginary. He roll the clays into rod and tell me they are sticks. Very fun, isnt it?

Gingerbread Man

Found a online learning website for learning phonics. Hong Zheng especially like to try this ginger bread man. The program is very interactive as there are around 5-7 pages prompting for adding shapes and colors for eyes, mouth, nose and buttons. Hong Zheng learn to control mouse pretty well after learning this program. This is an interesting computer aided software. Give it a try at starfall.

Wheels

Hong Zheng still rely on me when come to drawing. He rather ask me to draw instead he does the drawing. In order to let him try up, i draw cars and ask him to add wheels since he can draw circles. Look, he did a nice job by putting down the circles to the car. Nice job indeed!

Telling Lies

Hong Zheng started to tell me lie. He told me he wanted to poo at around 10:00pm last few days ago. When i brought him downstair, he told me no poo poo. I always bring him to bed around 8pm and read him 1 hour books. He will keep asking me to read him books. I refused that night due to tiringness, so he told me the lie. Two years old boy becomes a lier.

Fraser Hill Trip

During the first day of CNY, we went to Fraser Hill together with Lee's family. We departed around 8:30am. The journey took us around one hour. The road towards the hill is very tough and dad seem to drive very skillfully.

WE arrived at Frasr Hill around 11am and started our picnic in one of the playground.

Weather is cold so i had a long sleeves for him. We went to a waterfall pond and Hong Zheng manage to see some fish with his uncle at a very close view. We then when to horse farm and Hong Zheng and his dad took a ride on horse. Hong Zheng was scared and he asked to stop. End of the day, we had a short tea break and i was told he nasi lemak, hard boiled eggs and other drinks at the malay stall cost his uncle RM60++!

Ang Pow

When relatives gave ang pow to him, he did not bother.
I started to teach him ang pow has money and he must keep the money in the coin box.

Hong Zheng knows and loves money! When he saw money, he cried: "money, money!".

After the lesson, when someone gave him ang pow, he will put the money into his coin box.

Creativity Upgraded!

Hong Zheng is getting more creative in building his toys. He put the wooden blocks in a row and told me that was a train!

He put the bolts through the wheels and told me that were mikes and mushrooms.
