Today we had received the Your Baby Can Read DVD after two days placing the order. We got it around 10am and i was very excited with it. Hong Zheng was as excited as i did :-)
Well, the parcel was received in very good shape. The forwarder is Skynet which is one of my hubby's favourite forwarder. A 'fragile" sticker was sticked on the top of the parcel that show how nice the arrangement was being taken care.
I found a shiny sticker indicating "original". That type of sticker that you can always can find on an original CD or DVD. It has five pieces of DVD ranges starter video, vol 1-3 and review video. I immediately play the starter video to him and off course watching together with him. The video started with some images clips when Dr Rober Titzer showing flash card to his daughter. Some words and then presented one by one with different colors, font size, font style and backgrounds. The concept is exactly like Glenn Domm's way. Some images with kids, baby can animals are included to illustrate the meaning of the words. Around twenty words are tought in the first DVD. More new words are added in DVD Vol 1 but the olds words are repeated. So far, Hong Zheng seem to be quite happy with still less favor compare to Baby Einstein.
However, when i show this DVD to a four years old boy he commented "Boring! Why the words are kept repeating". I personaly feel the DVD is quite boring as the same set of words are kept repeating although i understand repeating is the key for words recognition. Let's see how long it takes for Hong Zheng to recognize some of the words there.
