Holiday Inn Playground

We went to Holiday Inn Melaka hoping to see some Christmas decoration. We could not spot any Christmas items there but we spotted a playground for children below age of six.
It did not mention the playground is only for the customers so Hong Zheng will definitely grep the chance to have fun in the playground. It is not a big playground but suitable to fit in 5 children who supervisied by thier parents. The playground is clean maybe due to the newly setup corner. Quite a nice place for children to hang up for sometimes while the parents can have a nice cup of coffee in the coffee house.

Christmas shots at Dataran Pahlawan

Today we went to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka to take a look the christmas decoration. The only decorative item impressed me the most is the recycled christmas trees using mineral water containers. Very impressive right?
Behind me and Hong Zheng was a ball with a snowman. According to the notice board you can experience the snow fall in the ball from december onwards. Want to try that? Pay a visit to Dataran Pahlawan in Melaka.

Melaka Eye On Malaysia

After a ride at river cruise at river Melaka, we decided to head off to Eye on Malaysia. As for the fee, RM5 for children between 3-7 years old, RM10 for adults, RM7.50 for senior citizen. We have to present our MyCard for identification as local citizen entitled for 50% off as compared to foreigner.

Again, without waiting long, we went on board. The overall trip should be less than half an hour but it brought us for five cycles. We manage to take a view at the Melaka sea side and some city area near by. Not that scary as we expected. My parents commented that the river cruise is more worth while as compare to the Eye on Malaysia. Overall, this was a good experience to Hong Zheng and i presented this whole package to him as his birthday present. I believe he enjoyed a lot.

Melaka River Cruise

Today, we decided to take a cruise ride at Melaka River looking at the good weather.
The entrance fee for children from 2-7 year old is RM5 where else adult is RM10. This fee range is applied for day trip. The fee for night trip or VIP is doubled. Hong Zheng was one day before his two years old so he was FOC.
The whole trip took us about 45min go and forth. There are two departing points one at Taming Sari and one is at the police station near the red house. We took the one at Taming Sari. Sister rode us there and she complained the entrance to the river cruise departing area was confusing. I think our government should put more effort into this area.

We did not wait long for departing as one cruise is already waiting for us with half boat of passengers. We departed around 11am although it was a hot day but fortunately the cruise is half covered so we did not get sun burn.

There was a cruise driver and a tour guide on the boat. The cruise driver was actually a lady and according to the tour guide she is one of the ten ladies who newly obtained the license for cruise driving. Along the trip the tour guide will explain to us the history of buildings, towels and landscape, the natural habitats along the way. He able to explain in Malay or English depend to the demand from the passengers in the boat. We came to know there will be a monorail running along the river side one more year later. Hard Rock will be started off the business in Melaka too. There are many more transportation for tourists such as taxi river and duck boat. Wao...cannot wait to take a ride.

Overall, i think it is worth to spend money as we came to know more about Melaka. 45min is really worth it for RM10. We plan to come for a ride at night in near future too.

Two Years Old Birthday

Many months ago, i taught Hong Zheng to sing birthday song to his grandpas as both his grandpa birthday fall in Aug and Oct. So, each time when he sang birthday song, he will say "Happy birthday to Gong Gong". After his granpas, next will be Hong Zheng's birthday. He sang "Happy birthday to me!". I always asked him if he wanted to have a cheesecake for his birthday and what topping he wants? He named Kiwi, mango, strawberry, blueberry and finally he wanted purple grapes as his topping. So, this was the birthday cake i baked for him. Topped with fresh strawberries and grapes. I bought these plane candles many months ago during Tesco sell. The motivation of learning cheesecake baking was actually came from hopping to bake a birthday for my son and it came true! Look, he was so excited with the cake and candle. Hong Zheng, may my son healthy and happy forever. Mommy loves you forever more.

Birthdate Bread Tag

This is a bread tag to indicate the expiry date of the bread loaf. I just happen to see the date is Hong Zheng's birthdate. So, as a memory. This is also Hong Zheng favourite bread loaf, Gardenia whole wheat bread.

3D Goggle

This is a 3D goggle to see the 3D shark. The book is from Scholastic publisher but Hong Zheng still do not really appreciate what is 3D.

Hot Chili

I was sorting the dry hot chili for my favourite hot chili paste when Hong Zheng came to me. He wanted to play with the chili. I kept telling him it was hot and spicy but he insisted. He started to play and at first, everything seem to be ok but ten minutes later he started to rub his nose and very soon he started crying and shouting. The outcome was hot lips and hot nose.

Froggy can help

Sometimes Hong Zheng can really do something that make me laugh. Today he carried Froggy to his keyboard and wanted Froggy to switch on the keyboard for him.

Wee Wee in car

After Hong Zheng able to tell me he wants to wee wee i never give him diaper at day time except when he takes his nap. That includes when we go outing.

Unfortunately he will not want to tell me if he sits in car seat. I still remembered the first time he told me he wants wee wee in the car and we were not able to stop our car immediately at the traffic light. He wet his paints and i told him that he cannot go anyplace with car if he wees in the car. Maybe due to this reason he will never tell me when he is in the car. He will smile at me after doing his business.

Threatening kids will not be a good way to discipline them. The conclusion i can make.

Rashes

Today without knowing any reason, Hong Zheng kept scratching his fingers. His dad took a look and observe some tiny rashes in between his fingers. Oh, what to do? WE quickly brought him for a hand wash with soap and then applied some medicine. What is the root couse?

Early Birthday celebration

Hong Zheng birthday fall on this week. We decided to celebrate slightly earlier with his dad since his dad will be working on the exact day. So, where to go? We decided to go to the newly open Station One Cafe. Why choose there? This cafe was openned half a year ago but i do have chance to pay a visit although it is so close to our house. Ever since i become a SAHM, you would not find me in this type of places except wet market, supermarket and occasionally book store. Hong Zheng's dad has promised to bring us here and it became realize today. At first i was quite worried as Hong Zheng will not stay long in this cafe. Luckily this cafe has some nice board games and Hong Zheng started to have fun playing with one of those. We were there about half an hour and Hong Zheng was so excited with this new toy! We ordered a expresson for his dad, a cappucino for my self and a 100% fresh watermelon juice for Hong Zheng. He loved it!

Daddy's Apple Macbook

Hong Zheng's daddy was browsing the internet with his apple macbook. Hong Zheng immediately walked to him when he got up from his afternoon nap. I strongly believe Hong Zheng will be the next gadget man after his dad :-(

Feeling guity

Hong Zheng throwed his ball at his dad's apple macbook. His dad immediately stopped him by shouting at him as this gadget is his be lover. Hong Zheng got a shock and immediately walked to the hall corner. Look at his guity face.

My big helper!

Today i cooked soup with flower bean. I could not know the exact name or the scientific name. Hong Zheng really gave me a big help in removing the beans from the skins. He did the job very fast which really impress me as i never thought of my son can be so good in completing this task.

Children Dictionary

I bought this children dictionary about one month ago. It is Merriam's Webster children Dictionary. My sister bought one at RM29.90 from Popular and suggested it to me.

It has a very detail illustration on how to use the dictionary. It also provides the letter information such as how K should be sound. It has 3000 illustrations and many good features.

I bought one and read together with HZ. To my surprise, he seem to like this dictionary. Occasionally he will flick through and read on his own.

Fun Baking

Today as per request from my sister, i went to her house to bake bread. Her son loves sausages bun. They had wonderful time playing with dough. Look, he is wearing a mask due to sneezing. Very professional baking chef huh!

Kicking ball

I have been given this green ball to Hong Zheng half a year ago but he did not really enjoy playing with it due to the poor motor skill. Today he able to kick the ball while running!

Swimming in the cold day

Due to the recent bad days, we had not able to go for swimming for the past few weeks. Today the day is not too good but still we decided to go for a swim( a bit cloudy ). After i brought Hong Zheng for a short wash. He started to giggle but still he insisted to go swimming. When we started to go into the water, he kept giggling and about 10 minutes we started to see his lips turn blue. Oh no, without any delay i brought him up from the pool and warm him with towel. This is his happy look after warm.

Who should keep the toys?

Tonight after Hong Zheng played his blocks, i asked him to keep away the toys but he refused as he was feeling tired. I insisted him to keep so i was trying to pursue him. Below was the conversation.

Mum : Who played the toys?
HZ: Hong Zheng
Mum: Who should keep the toys?
HZ: No!
Mum: Who is the "No" in our house?
HZ: An An brother keeps (my sister's son)
Mum: An An is not at our house, how to help you to keep?
HZ: An An go home!
Mum: SO, who should keep the toys?
HZ: Froggy (his frog toy just sitting next to us)
Mum: Can Froggy helps?
HZ: No!

Unfortunately i still failed to pursue him to clean up. The most effect way was: " Go and keep your toys now!"

Car Wee Wee

It was a rainy day when Hong Zheng's dad back home from his office. After having fun with his son a short while, Hong Zheng looked at his daddy's car and said " Car Wee Wee".

Murderer and Victim

Today morning, without knowing the reason, Hong Zheng just came to my newly grown shallot and crumbled them! I told him right away that he killed my shallot. He is the murderer and the shallot is victim! Not sure if he can understand me?

Twelve Blocks

I came across a baby book saying at age of two, toddler can only stack up 6 blocks! Today, to my ever surprise, Hong Zheng stacked up 12 blocks! The new record of his own!

Blow before you drink, it is hot!

I always ask Hong Zheng to blow the hot drink or food before he eats. Today morning, when i served him Milo and i told him hot. To my surprise, he blew it before drink. This is his first time blowing on hot drink!

Role Model

It had been quite sometimes i trained Hong Zheng to arrange his shoes before he enters the house. To my surprise, today he did it twice : once at the car porch and once at the backyard. I think the main reason he did that was because he followed what i did. I would say the best way to teach a child is parents being the role model to thier kids. No secret, just role model.

Gadget Sharing time with Dad!

Each after Hong Zheng came back from home, Hong Zheng will ask his daddy to show him his gadgets. Children is smart in knowing what to do for each person. He will not ask me for any gadget except my lovely Sony digital camera which costs us RM1K three years ago!

Kids are learning like bullet trains!

Today when we wake up, Hong Zheng patted my shoulder and said: " Hong Zheng touch mommy shoulder". I cannot believe that he already able to alter a full sentence "over night"...Kids are learning like bullet trains!

Toy and book shelves - before and after

Today, i talked to Hong Zheng about his toy and book shelves. Below is the conversation:

Mum: Hong Zheng, your selves are neat or messy?
Hong Zheng: Messy
Mum: What you should do?
Hong Zheng: Clean Up!

Although he really clean up but most of the jobs are still carried up by me :-)

First attempt baking Oat Cookies

Baking cookies is always not my top favourite if compare to bread and cheesecake but today i tried up the oat cookies hoping to clear up the oat cereal in my pantry.

Process is simple but the outcome is not what i am hoping for maybe due to the grain oat that i use. It is not the one called in recipe but i am using the organic grain wheat which consists of ten different grains.

Family Photo

We went to Tesco yesterday and there was a baby contest jointly held by Tesco and TOTS'R'US photography shop. Look carefully it is not Toys r us! I just realize it when writing down this blog.

With a single receipt minimum at RM50 from Tesco you will entitled for the free photography with a single 4R for free. If you wish to have more photos, off course you can. Every piece costs you RM10! As for soft copy, it will be RM12 for each or if you want all the softcopies, RM100! Smart way to generate profit ya!

Well, since last year i was thinking to take a family photo so i will grep this chance to realize my dream although we are not so prepare at that time. Lousy attire and no single touch up but that is real us!!

End of the session, we decide not to participate in that contest, so, we have Hong Zheng single photo for free and RM10 for the family photo!
